Lot Description:An ivory figure of a farmer, Meiji period
standing wearing a tunic tied at the waist and rope sandals, his hands held in front, a long staff tied with a rope resting against his left shoulder, and a basket at his feet, the face with well defined features and hair drawn into a top knot, wood stand

Notes:Condition: The figure glued to the wood stand, originally clasping something now missing, part of the staff broken off and part missing, cracks to the basket infilled, and an infilled crack down either side of his tunic below the sash, a hairline crack down the back of his tunic and down his right leg and another on the base.
