Notes:Firescreen’s were used to cover empty fireplaces in the summer creating a nice decorative cover to an otherwise unsightly hole in the wall. It was also popular to use decorative panels over doors, filling the void between the top of the door frame and the ceiling. These panels were designed with scenic wallpapers, frequently containing landscape views. Still life vignettes were another popular genre containing lavish spreads of fruits, wines and cheese.
