Notes:The documentation attached verso reads: 'This is honey, the variety of bobbidji, It has a secret sacred name also B_____. They used to sing that song long ago. This is the bobbiji honey. This log is at a place called Djabidj Bkoluy, a hollow log in the middle of the river. It used to be there but maybe it has now transformed into a rainbow serpent at that honey dreaming place where it used to be located. It was in the water but it has turned into a rainbow serpent. I looked for the log recently but I couldn't see it anymore where it used to be standing up and so I thought to myself that it had turned into a rainbow serpent. It is there down under the ground now. So the painting depicts the sacred log under the waters of the Havelock Falls. It is hollow but filled with the sacred honey of a native bee species - bobbidj and all the manifestations of its honey brood, the eggs, larvae, wax, pollen, honey - depicted by the variations of dotting. The spiritual guardians of this scared log float in the waters affects by the life-force and essence of honey and the rainbow serpent. They too are dotted with the ceremonial tufts of blossom and pollen.'
