  A Fine Old Coconut Grater in the Form of a Mythical Animal, Thailand, 19th Century
  this beautifully carved old stool in the form a mythical Makara Animal, the artist who was obviously a master carver made the animal so lifelike it appears to be crouching and ready to pounce. This stool made for sitting on while grating coconuts had been used for several generations and there are some damages to the legs but it does not interfere with the sculptural beauty of the artwork.
