  • Notes:
This collection was carefully selected by me over many years buying only the ones I thought were the most beautiful and had great old patina from long use. The Phurba is one of the most remarkable and beautiful ritual objects produced by Himalayan cultures. These generally three-edged ritual whose function is to subdue the enemies of the Dharma and prevent negative forces to accomplish evil. Due to the quality of the carving, I considered them to be masterpieces of small-scale sculpture and for many years now, they have been sort after and admired by museums and collectors. These ritual objects daggers used by the Nepalese Shaman and the priests of the ancient indigenous Himalayan Bompo religion and this collection is specifically from the tribal regions of Nepal or areas close by. Some of these superb artworks have Buddhist iconography but they mostly contain more ëtribal' elements of Hindu and Shamanic traditions.
