Notes:The Endurance was Ernest Shackleton’s ship on the 1914-1917 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. It became trapped in ice, and finally sank in the Weddell Sea on 21st November, 1915. Frank Hurley had joined the expedition as official photographer in October 1914.
