A blue-and-white sanduo vase, originally of the 'garlic-mouth' shape

Private collection, Sydney, acquired in Calcutta, during the 1950s, thence by descent

Always decorated with peaches, pomegranates and gourds growing from leafy stems, the 'three abundance' or sanduo, alternating with floral sprays, this type of vases appear to have been made from the Yongzheng period until probably the Daoguang reign, such as the current lot.
