    A yixing-ware enamelled teapot with cover, 18th/19th century
    with a box, 17.8cm high
  • Notes:
    Quite a few of the danranzhai marked teapots are associated with the hanfang shape, such as this lot, and many are decorated with enamels. A slightly larger teapot of the same shape, and with similar mark, but with 'robin's egg' enamel, and dated to late 18th century, is illustrated in The K.S. Lo Collection in the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, Hong Kong, 2000, p. 81, no. 33. Compare with another enamelled example with the same mark, see Sotheby's, 27 Sep 2022, lot 673.
