  "Blue series. I read about grey skies in major cities around the world, I set out to find typical Australian icons against our beautiful clear blue skies. This Memorial sculpture in Robe, South Australia appears throughout Australia. Commissioned in multitude to express the sad, proud tributes to the thousands of Australian youth who died - for what? This young man has purity, the marbles shines in the sun and the only age this youth shows is the dirt that has accumulated in the areas that rain has not washed. His hands holding the gun feel new and unused. Against the rich blue Australian sky this sculpture defines the futility and waste of war." Joyce Evans
