with a leaf blade, ridged brass grip and brass mounted leather scabbard, marked 'Manufacture d'Armes de Ch‚tellerault' to base of the blade 66cm long -
Notes:This sword was referred to by French soldiers as a 'coupe-chou' or cabbage cutter.
