  the tortoiseshell guards beautifully incised and gilded with butterflies, opening to sixteen sticks with gilt and coloured decoration of birds perched in trees, the sticks set with a lace panel painted with a central scene of musicians and singers in interior scenes, surrounded by applied spangles on a lace ground, with loop carry handle, height 39cm
