 Inscribed verso: 'this was Graeme's 1958 Archibald Prize entry, and also one of the 66 portraits selected to be hung in 1958 by the judges, NSW Art Gallery.

            Notes:Rembrandt 'Rem' McClintock (1901-1968) was a lithographic artist and close friend of Max Meldrum (Inson's teacher). A devoted member of the Communist Party, he worked with Noel Counihan in promoting the Artists' Unity Congress in Melbourne in 1942; and was involved in the establishment of the Victorian Arts Council.
