Provenance:The Lucio's Collection, Sydney

Notes:Painted one year prior to Garry Shead's collaborative entry with Adrienne Levenson for the Archibald Prize, Soffritto di Lucio, this work again positions a Lucio(esque) figure against the village of Ameglia, the area in which Lucio was raised. In the foreground is a snapper and glass of white wine, both strongly associated with the delights of a long lunch at Lucio's. As Shead notes of Lucio, 'He just makes you feel so welcome. He treats everyone like family and makes them feel special.'
