Notes:This painting is sold with a copy of the original accompanying documentation from Hogarth Galleries that reads: 'The artist has depicted Djerrka, freshwater goanna, one of his clan totems. The square design covering the surface of the bark, represents fresh water. Geometric designs lie at the heart of eastern Arnhem Land paintings. Each design is associated with a particular place and the Ancestral events that occurred there.'
