The film focuses on the conflict between Maximilian I (Brian Aherne), an Austrian archduke who is installed as the puppet ruler of Mexico by the French Napoleon III (Claude Rains), and Benito Juárez (Paul Muni), the country's president. Chad Hanna is a 1940 American Technicolor drama film directed by Henry King, It stars Henry Fonda, Linda Darnell and Dorothy Lamour.
