Lot Description:A Rare Carved Sculpture of Vajrapani Painted in Blue Vegetable & Mineral Pigments, Mustang, Northern Nepal, 18th/19th Century
holding a bell and a vajra, with three staring eyes and a gaping mouth of bared canine teeth, wearing a necklace of human figures, a long scarf and a lower garment of tiger skin, adorned with a crown of five skulls and gold earrings, standing the lotus flower pedestal. the bodhisattva Vajrapani the protector and guide of the Buddha representing the energy of the enlightened mind.
