Notes:Huang Binhong moved to Beijing in 1937 and started teaching in the Beijing Fine Art Academy till 1948, when he moved to Hangzhou to continue teaching. Huang left behind thousands of sketches, and drafts as teaching aids, some of which were published to offer an insight into Huang's artistic pursuit. The typical way Huang addresses the dedication in this current lot implies that the dedicated is a colleague of Huang's in a teaching environment. Fu Hua, co-founder of the Paintings Academy in Shanghai in 1956, is a renowned Shanghai-school artist. Resided in London and Sydney since the late 1980s, he has only permanently returned to Shanghai in 2010. Bonhams Sydney over the years has offered various materials from Fu Hua's collection, please see Bonhams, Sydney, Asian Art, 30 Nov 2015, Sale 22858, Lot 137, and Important Asian Art, 22 May 2019, Sale 25467, lot 134 to 140
