  BOATS SIGNALS BOOK: for the use of His Majesty’s Fleet and Coastguard Stations
  published by HMSO (1907), with corrections in manuscript dated “19-6-13”, belonging to T.W. Biddlecombe RAN.
• Notes:
  Thomas Wyburn Biddlecombe (1880-1917) joined the Royal Australian Navy as a Sub-Lieutenant in July 1913. In 1916 he was appointed Acting Commander of HMS Q27 and was killed in action whilst engaged in battle with a German submarine. He was the first RAN Officer to be killed in command during the First World War.
