Notes:A right-wing perspective, prepared for the French Legislative elections of 1932. Captions below the images protest the influence of Socialism in various countries. Australia features in the first image, where it is described as “an island devastated by Socialism. On this great Pacific island, socialism’s failure is now complete: misery, unemployment, desolation everywhere one looks.” Other countries referenced include Austria, Spain, Germany and England. The “Cartel of the Left” narrowly won the election.
