Lot Description:Rare Late 19th Century Rhinoceros Horn Chalice
the squat globular bowl waisted below the broad everted rim, carved in relief on the exterior with a phoenix in a frieze of peony and other flowering plants between bands of stiff leaves, and a further band of petals around the wide mouth, supported on three splayed scroll feet above a cylindrical pedestal base, finely engraved around the sides with peonies and bamboo between carved bands of overlapping petals, h 22cm and w 13 cm -
