Lot Description:A Large Rare Zushi Shrine, Eight Attendants below the Seated Buddhas, Japan, Edo Period [1603-1868]
the black lacquer case with a gilt interior fitted with chairs & platforms & two Deity sitting side by side, two guardians then another two protectors with four Kannon each with a halo, standing looking away from the exalted throne, with tendrils & bells hanging from the domed ceiling with engraved metal fittings.
H 70, W 60, D 40 cm -
Provenance:Acquired in Japan in the 1990s from a private collector
