  A 19thC rare and complete set of S. Mawson & Thompson of London obstetric instruments
  in velvet lined leather bag, the steel instruments, many with ebony handles, include four pairs of various forceps, a Smelie perforator and a balene and ivory handled uterine Sound, all fitted to the stitched black leather and purple velvet lined unfolding bag, gold tooled maker’s mark. This set would accompany the physician to the home for delivery.
