Notes:From the Morven Estate Curatorial Services records: This is a representation of the activity of the Nyinga Dreaming at Tjitururya in the Western Desert of Central Australia. The Nyinga is a wallaby like creature depicted at its main dreaming site. Shown in the painting is Tjitururya, with small hills covered with trees called Witjirka, a bush tucker, inside of which are stones left by the Dreaming. Also shown in the painting are the two ceremonial moieties. [The] card from [the] back of painting includes diagram with schema, roundels in each corner represent hills (Witjirki), red lines connecting roundels to center design represents moiety B, black/redlines connecting roundels to centre represents moiety A. Export license: Please note this lot has been imported into Australia and has been pre-approved for export as per Certificate of Exemption from Australian Export Control under subsection 12(3) of the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Act 1986
