  The Ferrari Testarossa was launched in 1984 at the Paris Motor Show as the successor to the Ferrari BB512i. It would remain in production largely unchanged until 1992, before being revamped and then replaced by the Ferrari 550 Maranello in 1996. The Testarossa is one of the most popular Ferrari models ever produced with a total production run of 7,177 units. The vehicle is so named on account of its red-painted cam covers which pay homage to the great Ferrari sports cars, similarly decorated, of the late 1950s and early 1960s which were successful at Le Mans and the other major sports car races of the period. Testarossa in Italian literally means ‘Redhead’. The two-door Berlinetta, Testarossa, designed by Pininfarina, features a rear-mid engine layout with rear-wheel drive, providing 40% front and 60% rear balance split. Its flat 12 cylinder 4.9 litre engine, coupled to a five speed manual transmission, is capable of a maximum speed of 290 km/h (180 mph). This 1986 left hand drive Ferrari Testarossa is in very good condition having been repainted in its original rosso corsa red three years ago at which time the luxurious interior was also refurbished. It features the rare and desirable centre lock wheels and conspicuous double flying wing mirrors. It is accompanied by its complete tool kit, and we are told that it drives exceptionally well.
