    A Guild of Handicraft five piece silver tea service in the Arts & Crafts tradition
    entirely handmade by George and Henry Hart, Chipping Campden. Hallmarked London, 1947- 48. Comprising: tea and hot water pots with ivory handles and finials, milk jug and sugar bowl, large plain circular tray with everted reeded edged rim. Total weight 4475gms. The Hart family are the the last remaining survivors from the Guild of Handicraft company built up by Charles Ashbee, who went from London to Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds in 1902. The Hart workshop is still active today.
  • Provenance:
    Commissioned for our vendor's father's wedding, a New Zealand doctor who served in WWII, remaining in England working in Oxford.
