  • Notes:
    The bold design of stylised so-called dragon forms, combined with intricate in-fill details and meticulous technique contribute to the appeal of this group of highly-collectable rugs. Early examples in the Wher Collection, Switzerland, and in the Textile Museum, Washington, DC,USA assist in tracing the evolution of the design from classical Caucasian knotted carpets. The Cadry example has particularly vibrant colour, with a saturated green, midnight blue, strong yellow and ivory all set against a glowing madder-red field.
