    A Georgian Gold And Gem Set Mourning Locket 
    Circular form. Cannetille gold work back and front. The front panel set with a floral motif, small central turquoise surrounded by six pear shaped amethysts. The back with a central small sapphire and six small turquoise beads. Applied gold beaded decoration. The interior locket compartment containing a watercolour on card depicting a young woman of the 1880's. 18 carat yellow gold. Circa 1830. Suspended from a modern fox link chain. 18 carat yellow gold. Total length 445mm. Boxed. 
  • Notes:
    Condition: Presents in very good condition commeasurate with age of piece. Small amount of lead solder to the bale. Stones well matched. The front inside lid engraved with the following inscription ' Rev.d.John Allen OBT(died) 22nd July 1821 AET (aged) 61. Grace Allen OBT 7th May 1817 AET 56.'
