Lot Description:A bronze sculpture after Auguste Rodin
‘Mask of the Man with the Broken Nose’, originally modelled 1863-1864, this sculpture broke away from the conventional notions of beauty basing this work on a local workman ‘Bibi’, Rodin considered this work his first good piece of modelling which ‘determined all my future work’. Height 220, raised on stepped marble and wood base. -
