    1905 NSW Telegram from Federal Parliament House in Melbourne with Woollahra NSW datestamp, 1908-09 & 1909-10 Christmas cards from the President of the Senate, four different invitations for the Visit of the American Fleet & a lovely Victoria Racing “Welcome Meeting to the American Fleet” ticket, superb 1908 Cairns-Atherton-Cairns Queensland Railways ‘FREE PASS’ printed on a picture postcard, etc. (35 items).
  • Notes:
    Ex Senator Colonel J.C. Neild. His “Australian Dictionary of Biography” entry states “...Neild had a genius for getting into trouble - and wriggling out of it!” He had no military experience but in 1896 raised a local militia and was gazetted Captain, being promoted to Major a month later, and Colonel in 1898.
