Lot Description:A British 1897 Infantry Officer’s George V WWI dress sword
the engraved blade tapering to a spear point, crowned Royal cypher for George V, plated steel 3/4 basket hilt with scroll pattern and pierced decoration, wire bound fish skin grip, leather stitched scabbard. -

Francis Brodie, born Scotland, served with the 71st (Highland) Light Infantry (Lieut.), died at his home at Lake St John, Remuera,1916, Auckland Town Clerk 1870s, an awardee of 400 acres under the Military Settlers Act 1889.
