Lot Description:An exceptional platinum and 18ct. gold, diamond and sapphire brooch
the 23.28ct. oval cabochon Ceylonese sapphire of cornflour blue tones claw set in a platinum laurel wreath, pavé set with 100 small rose cut diamonds, currently being worn as a pendant with a 9ct. fine white gold chain. Valuation available. -
Provenance:A gift from the government of Ceylon to the wife of Sir Herbert Stanley, during his tenure as Governor-General there 1928-1931; and by descent to his grand-daughter, our vendor.
