  • Lot Description:
    A 1970 Porsche 911T 2.2 litre
Chassis: 911110032Engine: 6110562In September 1963, Porsche presented the Porsche 901 at the IAA in Frankfurt as a successor to the Porsche 356. One year later, as of model year 1965, series production of the model began and it was renamed the 911 shortly thereafter. In 1968 the 911T, the Touring" version, became the new entry-level model in the 911 family, initially developing 110 hp and later 130 hp. Its equipment matched that of the four-cylinder 912 model. One of the ways in which it could be distinguished from more powerful models (the E and S) was the fact that it had a silver rather than a gold logo. Features of the Porsche 911T were bumpers featuring chrome-plated bumper guards with rubber pads; rear lid with chrome-plated air grille; chrome-plated horn grille; wide sill trims; round, chrome-plated exterior mirrors; silver-coloured Porsche logo; silver-coloured 911 T emblem straight and centrally mounted; windscreen wipers laying to the left; outer door handles with trigger lever in the inside (pistol grip handles). This beautiful example of the iconic Porsche 911 is a matching numbers right hand drive vehicle originally delivered new to South Africa through Lindsay Saker Motors, Johannesburg. It is presented in marvellous condition having been beautifully restored recently to a very high standard by its current, third, owner. The engine was totally refreshed by Motion Automotive in February 2013. The work carried out also included new clutch kit, and new front and rear shock absorbers, whilst the factory standard Zenith carburettors were fully reconditioned. Invoices for all the work carried out are available. The interior is unrestored and presented in excellent original condition. The car also comes with a set of very good original 14" Fuchs wheels. Accompanied by a full history file, including Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and Australian import permit one might ask if this is not indeed the famous German 'Tangerine Dream'?"
