  Zhang Dong Hong lives and works in Beijing and has participated in many group and solo shows around the world. His paintings combine strength of colour with fluidity of movement, evoking a sense of languid immersion in everyday activities and engaging with themes of metamorphosis. His work is also strongly informed by Taoist and Buddhist philosophies, particularly the Buddhist conception that every individual contains within him or herself the capacity for enlightenment.
