  A rare and splendid gilded sterling silver and enamel crested Presentation Casket (Similar to freedom casket)
  With castle turret finials, deeply carved scroll feet and applied scroll corner pillars and foliage fretwork. Engraved mine scene panels. The top surmounted by standing miner. The inscription reads - presented to Mr Miles Settle JP. The Darry Lever Coal Company Ltd on the occasion of his retirement as Managing Director for 40 years. Hallmarked Birmingham 1899. Maker Vaughton & Son. (Blue silk liner faults) Length 300mm, height 210mm, width 180mm. Total weight 2890g.
