Notes:[Docketing at left indicates the enclosed letter was written at Melbourne on 25/6/1864. The cover was probably carried by coastal vessel to Port Adelaide where it was put into the mails; then per 'Northam', departed Melbourne 27/6/1864; 'Nemesis', departed Galle 20/7/1864; & 'Ceylon', departed Alexandria 6/8/1864; arrived Marseilles 12/8/1864. The long route mail per 'Ripon' arrived Southampton 19/8/1864, by which time the letter had been delivered in Scotland. It was apparently missent via Marseilles]
