    A Second China War Medal with three bars: 'Fatshan 1857; Taku Forts 1858 and Canton 1857
    issued by the British Government in 1861 to Army and Navy who took part in the Second Opium War of 1856-60; unnamed as issued to the navy, on original ribbon. The obverse with the diademed head of Queen Victoria circumscribed VICTORIA REGINA; reverse, a trophy of arms around a palm tree, with the Royal shield at the front, above the legend ARMIS EXPOSCERE PACEM, below the word CHINA. Designed by William Wyon.
