Lot Description:A good historical New Zealand and Pacific 19thC photograph album
includes: Fiji Islands, 26 albumen prints, «Fijian Cannibal Feast», signed and other portraits, «Making Kava», «Fijians selling produce» etc., mostly 139 x 202mm; 11 albumen and carbon prints of Samoa includes «Samoan Girls», «Semanalako Samoan Chief», «Matautu Savaii» by Andrew, others by Andrew etc; 12 albumen prints (10 by Josiah Martin) of Maori includes: “Interior of Maori Carved House», «Sophia, Maori Guide», «Maoris Rubbing Noses», various geysers, etc., mostly 148 x 203mm.
The album size 185 x 280mm. -
Provenance:Found in England within a wardrobe where it sat for many decades.
