An early/mid-20thC Maori carved presentation walking stick presented to M.A. Brook (OBE)
a Maori Land Court Judge, the tapered cylindrical stick with entire fine carved bands of curvilinear and geometric ridges with notch carved detail, paua inset eyes to the single mask, good old dark patina, the ovoid handle of various native woods, together with a small N.Z. woods box, the interior with presentation silver plaque ‘Presented to M.A. Brook Esq. By The Coromandel R.S.A. 1947’. Length of walking stick 890.
