Lot Description:Rare and fine pair of Chinese Huanghuali cabriole-leg incense stands
With lobed six-sided prunus shaped top above a pierced frieze of floral scrolls and Ruyi-shaped aprons supported by six cabriole shaped legs over a similarly lobed six sided base, the wood with attarctive grains and distinctive 'Guilian' knots, 48 cm x 48 cm x 72cm H Ref: Compare with a similar pair in The Palace Museum illustrated in book by Wang Shixiang, ' Classic Chinese Furniture - Ming and Early Qing Dynasties' p131 and 279 -
