Lot Description:Imposing red lacquer Mandala corner gilt repousse with red pigment. Tibet Circa 13th-14thC
The corner depicting a dorje surmounted by a kalasa from which emanate 3 wish fulfilling jewels (norbu) and lotus form scrolls. Above a ribbed band is a row of flowers between which offering goddesses dance lithely. A sickle moon marks the corner of this tier, and is in turn surmounted by another of gilded flowers separated by chevrons, above which is a tier of gilded swags punctuated by belled tassels.
