Lot Description:A Massive pair of carved Chinese ivory tusks, Qing Dynasty, 19th century
each tusks intricately carved and undercut with scenes from a festival, probably for New Year, featuring scenes from a Chinese drama; battle scenes, one with a dragon float, the other with a Buddhist lion, musicians and dignitaries watching from pavilions. Each tusk is supported on a very heavy carved ebony base. Tusks: 95 and 94cm long, 4.060kg, and 4.038kg
stands 25.5cm high and 47cm wide and 21cm deep, 26.5cm high and 54cm wide and 20.5cm deep -
