An original photograph of Mt Cook mountaineers
William Green, Emil Boss and Ulrich Kaufmann, c.1882. The three climbers made the first attempt on Mt Cook coming within 60 metres of the High Peak (3764m). It was another 12 years before the mountain was summited. Sepia tone silver gelatin print with card mat signed by the three, Green's followed by 'A.C.' (Alpine Club), in original frame. 145 x 100.
