Lot Description:Nikolay Ivanovich Lieberich (Russian, 1828-1883) - Russian Cast Iron Figure of Peasant Girl
depicted riding a horse, with rake in one hand, signed in Cyrillic, 18(?) mark rubbed, with Kasli foundry to underside, a/f, 42cm x 40cm Catalogue Note: Established as an iron foundry in the early 18th century, the Kasli plant began producing cast-iron sculptures in the 1820s and quickly became famous all over the world. The plant wins the highest award at the All-Russian Art and Industry Fair in 1896. -
