    “HOBART TOWN” circa 1825 Staffordshire earthen ware ceramic plate
    with blue & white transfer pattern. (After) George William Evans, who originally published the image as a frontispiece to his book on the colony in 1822. Earliest known depiction of Australia on porcelain or earthen ware. Extremely rare & desirable. Diameter 23cm. Hairline cracks expertly repaired without loss of image.
