  A Set of Five EarlyStone Clubs, Telefomin Region, Papua New Guinea
  with finely woven fibre bindings and exhibiting a glossy patina. Three with disc form stone heads and two with spherical stone heads. Interesting to see a selection of clubs collected in the same place at the same time as per circumstances in the provenance.

  Purchased from Billy Newbold; Private Collection, Sydney.
• Notes:
  These clubs were reputedly collected on the police patrol in pursuit of the murderers of 17 men in the Telefomin region 1957. Please see related documentation including newspaper reports and native police testimony detailing aspects of this patrol. Media file supplied
