    A historically important set of four inscribed and crested George IV sterling silver lidded entrée dishes from the Lonsdale Silver Presentation
    I&I Waterhouse & Co., Sheffield, circa 1828, each with a shallow rectangular body engraved to the front and back with the Lonsdale family Stag insignia, beneath a fitted domed cover inscribed to the front 'Presented / TO William Lonsdale Esqre. / BY CERTAIN INHABITANTS / OF THE TOWN & DISTRICT OF / MELBOURNE, PORT PHILLIP, / in Testimony of Their high Regard / FOR HIS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE CHARACTER, / A.D. 1839', the reverse bearing the Lonsdale family coat of arms with the motto 'BOLD AS VIRTUE', the body and cover of each entrée dish cast with shell and leaf borders, beneath a removable oak branch, acorn and oak leaf cast handle
