Held in single-family ownership since 1949 and one of a mere 421 built “Brown Saddle”. Engine NO: 39U 2931 -
Notes:This wonderfully patinated and well cared for motorcycle has been held in single family ownership since 1949. Presented in a period colour scheme of Delfine Blue the tin ware presents as original and in good order. It has a 3-speed gearbox; correct 18in wheels front and rear. Aftermarket indicators and mirrors have been fitted to comply with modern registration requirements. Some glassware and the speedo have been replaced over time with appropriate examples. It comes with the fitted Perspex and vinyl screen and a tonneau for the sidecar. This bike was last registered in 1983. The side-car is presumed Dusting and has a brown trim. Production numbers of the 1939 Model U were a mere 421 units being significantly lower than most other flathead models of the pre-war era, making this example a rare and highly desirable acquisition. This motorcycle is in running order. Fresh oils and fuel were replaced in recent weeks. This motorcycle will be sold unregistered.
