    AUSTRALIAN WWII RAAF 1933 PATTERN SIDCOT FLYING SUIT
    together with RAF Pattern Flying Boots, RAAF Inner Padded Suit Liner for wear under Sidcot Flying Suit, Leather Flying Helmet, c.1930 and WWII RAF Leather Gauntlets.
  • Notes:
    The Sidcot flying suit was manufactured in 1944, marked A/F (Air Force). Made of rubberised canvas with three button front flap and fur collar attached with fur lined leg pockets. Issued to Trainee pilots as part of the Empire Flying Training Scheme. The Flying Boots were used in Australia by the RAAF in flight operations. Suede uppers with working zips heavily lined in fleece. Foot section enclosed in a rubber coating. The inner padded suit is 1942 manufacture - V36 and is made of brown padded quilton material. Zipp brand full length front zip and two leg zips. The Leather flying helmet manufactured by Stagg Gloves and has a provision for communication between pilots using Gosport tubes. A set of goggles is also attached. The leather gauntlets are design type “D” 22c/771.
