    ...a fair show of pleasure-seeking||citizens, supplemented by Melbourne visitors,||crowded the numerous vehicles that plied for||passengers, and those who thus hied thither||wards under such discouraging circumstances,||were not wholly disappointed. Save one||short and not unpleasant shower, the day||was dry, cool, balmy, and excessively pleasant.
