  Pair of Chinese Southern Official Armchairs
  in yellow hardwood ("Nanguanmaoyi"), with closely spaced spindles in the backrest arch in alignment with the profile of the backposts; those under the armrest fan outward under the curvilinear line of the armrests. An example in the National Museum of History is referred to in "Splendour of Style: Classical Furniture from the Ming and Qing Dynasties", Taipei, 1999.
